Hydraulic
Account Manager
|
Position
Summary:
Professionally promotes and sells custom hydraulic
cylinders, piston accumulators and other hydraulic
components and systems. Maintains and builds
current customer business, identifies and develops
new customer business by providing outstanding
customer service and product knowledge. This
position requires frequent travel (approximately 40%
to 50%) to call on current and potential customers
to introduce products and services, obtain orders,
or resolve issues.
Responsibilities:
-
Identifies potential customers using business
directories, referrals, and professional
resources; and contacts potential customers (in
person and by phone) to explain products, costs
and advantages of services offered.

Develops and maintains good customer relations
by providing prompt attention and resolution to
customer’s needs, inquiries, complaints, or
other communications.

Maintains list of current customers and tracks
visits and sales history; obtains firm purchase
orders from the customer and monitors open
orders to ensure timely delivery.

Works with the President, Engineering Manager,
Director of Manufacturing, and Director of
Quality & Planning to ensure that the Company’s
price quotes, production and delivery schedules,
and other pertinent information are being
properly communicated and coordinated with the
customer.

Reports product and component problems to the
Company’s Engineering Manager and Director of
Quality & Planning; follows up to ensure the
situation has been resolved.

Assists management in positioning high
performing manufacturers’ reps or distributors
to represent and sell the Company’s products and
services.

Additional responsibilities include maintaining
up-to-date knowledge of industry trends in order
to serve as an informational resource to
management and customers; participating in
company sales and marketing meetings; and
monitoring competitor’s sales activities and
efforts.
Requirements:
-
Bachelor’s degree in engineering with an
emphasis in hydraulics and a minimum of three
years of outside sales experience in the fluid
power industry

Excellent customer service, problem solving, and
communication skills
-
Ability to develop Power Point presentations and
to communicate effectively during customer
meetings
-
Ability to maintain organized customer files
containing account and customer information
-
Ability to handle multiple projects at one time
-
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
